Smile Rehab Centers Maintenance – Southlake, TX
How To Make Sure
Your New Smile Lasts
Smile Rehab Centers teeth are designed to last a lifetime, but it’s still important for patients to care for them as the years go by so they continue to look and feel like new. Fortunately, daily maintenance is likely very familiar to most patients, as it closely resembles routine oral hygiene.
Because the prosthesis is fixed, it doesn’t have to be removed to be cleaned, so the prosthetic teeth can just be brushed like regular teeth. Ideally, a patient should brush twice a day for two minutes each and floss or water-pik daily.
To prevent potential complications or breakage, a patient should avoid chewing on particularly hard items that could damage their new teeth, including ice, pens, pencils, and fingernails. And while the prosthesis is extremely strong, it shouldn’t be used as a tool to open packages.
A patient should attend regular visits with their general dentist for checkups and hygiene appointments every 6 months (or more often if a patient has dealt with periodontal disease in the past) . The prosthesis /teeth will be removed by the dentist for cleaning and checking the implants , and will be replaced permanently again in the mouth at the end of the appointment.
